Upgrades Reportedly Coming to Erie Co. Sheriff’s Radio System

June 17, 2013

According to a story published by Emily Matson on erietvnews.com and found on scanerie.com the Erie County (PA) Sheriff’s Department is going to be getting a radio system upgrade. Erie County Council voted unanimously to authorize 68,000 dollars to the department for upgrades to their communication system, which is reportedly in need of such actions. According to the story, there are numerous spots both within the courthouse and out on the roads throughout the region that units are unable to get into the system. While little information was given, the report stated that this money will be utilized in attempting to eliminate such problems, for the safety of all the personnel that communicate on the system and rely on it every day.

So for those of you in Erie county, look for some upgrades to coverage on the sheriff’s frequency (158.79 MHZ), hopefully soon!
