New System in Chautauqua County Makes Vital Personalized Information Available to Responders

August 15, 2012

Chautauqua County has implemented a new public safety system that will greatly enhance the ability for emergency crews responding to a call to get vital information. The System is known as Smart911, and it is brand-new in the county, put in for 18,000 dollars. As I understand it, people can create a profile with the system online, with as much information as they want to make available, about things such as medical conditions, disabilities, household details and floor pans, among others. Then, if a call comes in for your address, dispatchers and emergency responders will have access to all that information to make their response faster and better help them in their rescue efforts.

The system is completely free, and all information is confidential. The only time the information will be viewed is if a call comes in for your house. I highly recommend signing up for the system.
